Tagaytay

An hour or so ride away from Manila is Tagaytay, a picturesque city that surrounds (or almost surrounds) a lake that has a volcano that has a lake inside it. There are several ways to take advantage of this gift of nature. You can either have lunch or dinner (with a panoramic view of the volcano and lake) at one of the restaurants on the ridge or enjoy the view from there, or you can travel down the ridge to the lakeside, take a small boat to the volcano in the center.

A popular destination, Tagaytay is has a mild climate and dramatic scenery. The weather in Tagaytay is mild & average temperature is from 22 degrees Celsius (71⁰F) to 25 degrees Celsius (77⁰F). There are only two 'seasons', wet and dry.

There are a lot of hotels and restaurants in Tagaytay so you don't need to worry if you are planning to stay the night.

Pink sisters - Brent Road, Tagaytay City, Cavite. Best to buy treats and hear mass.

Tagaytay Picnic Grove - Tagaytay’s playground is the popular Picnic Grove. Thatch huts line the gentle slopes. It is a prime location, providing the finest view of the volcano far below. It is in Barangay Sungay East.

41st Division USAFFE Marker - Tagaytay played a significant role in Philippine history. During WWII, Filipino revolutionaries found refuge on its vast forests and ridges. It was used as landing site and sanctuary for paratroopers on their way to liberate Manila.

The Flower Farm - On a windy slope of a hill in Tagaytay City sprawls a flower farm that keeps Manila abloom whole year round. The five-hectare flower farm has many varieties of flowers such as chrysanthemums with assorted colors, gerberas, carnations, roses, and anthuriums.

How To Go There:

By car - via Sta.Rosa Road - Take the South Luzon Expressway (SLEX) from Metro Manila and exit at Sta.Rosa-Tagaytay Exit. Upon paying and passing the toll plaza, turn right to Sta.Rosa Road. Go straight ahead until you reach Aguinaldo Highway. That road is Tagaytay. To get to Rotonda, the most famous Tagaytay landmark, turn right.

By bus - You can take a bus from Pasay City straight to Tagaytay. It's about 55km and the journey lasts for 1-2 hours. Buses fill up and may find yourself standing for some or all of the journey.
